‘Id Khutbah 1429 (2008)
Imam Zaid delivered this ‘Id khutbah at the Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland, California on Wednesday, October 1.

I wish to extend warmest ‘Id Greetings to all of you. May Allah bless you all during this blessed season. Here is my ‘Id Khutbah. Insha Allah, you will find some benefit in it.

dear brother, my english is not very good, but, elhamdulillah ı have understood your khutbah of ‘ıd of 1429.
ıt was wanderfull,ı hope Allah will give you fasih speeking and beyan, and your voice will arrive every human ears and hearts,and will make them muslim and mumin inşeallah.
after this time ı want to fallow your lessons inşeallah
ı am a doctor and ı have islamic education also. inşeallah we will see those days that everybody know and belive that there is NO GOD but ONLY ALLAH AND MUHAMMED (AS) İS THE LAST MESENGER OF ALLAH LAİLAHE İLLALLAH MUHAMMEDUN RASULULLAH.
I love you, sheikh hamza yusuf and all that you are trying to accomplish at Zaytuna, may ALLAH grant you tawfeeq.
I do have a question about one of the verses that you mentioned “inallaha lamaghfiratan linassi ala dholmihim”
did you mean to say “ladhoo maghfiratin linassi….” if so will this change the meaning of your explanation of this verse?

mashallah We wish you was here in NYC – Mashallah what you mentioned about Imam Warith Deen Muhammad is right on point – I happened to talk to a Elder of the Community and she said that the Imam was concern about Purifying their hearts. They are open to Learning – Arabic, Sciences of Islam , etc.. very Humble Mashallah.
